About the course
Digitalisation, structural change and the shortage of skilled workers are transforming companies from the ground up. Artificial intelligence offers enormous opportunities, yet many businesses are still not using it systematically. On this course you build solid foundations in artificial intelligence, get to know generative AI and understand how data-driven decision-making is put into practice successfully. You also learn how knowledge is organised and managed across a company — and how to get change moving.

AI fundamentals, prompting & contexting
Get to know the fundamentals of generative artificial intelligence — and how to steer it.
- Introduction — what is AI? History and terminology (ML, deep learning, GenAI)
- How language models work — training, tokens, hallucinations, limits
- The AI landscape, data protection, GDPR, the EU AI Act
- Prompt engineering — basic techniques, roles, context, few-shot
- Advanced prompting — chain-of-thought, structured output
- The differences between AI assistants, AI automation and AI agents
Data & Processes
Lay the technical groundwork for your AI application and learn how to prepare data and processes.
- Data fundamentals — types of data, data quality, structured vs. unstructured
- Preparing data — cleansing, formats, data sources
- Process fundamentals — understanding, documenting, modelling (BPMN)
- Process analysis — identifying and assessing automation potential
- Practical exercise — analyse one of your own processes and design an AI use case
Ethics, security & quality
Learn to use AI properly in an ethical context and to define criteria for assessing quality.

Knowledge management
Knowledge is the basis for using AI across the company. Learn how to prepare knowledge so that it is available to everyone.

- Communicating through change — messages, formats, storytelling
- Shaping the introduction of AI — stakeholders, pilot projects, multipliers
- Building skills — training concepts, AI guidelines, governance
- Practical exercise — develop a change concept for introducing AI
Developing an AI strategy
All the previous modules lay the groundwork for an AI strategy tailored to your company. After this module you bring the technical and organisational aspects in line with the use cases you have identified.
- Strategy fundamentals — maturity assessment, prioritising use cases, roadmap
- Practical exercise — sketch out an AI strategy for your own environment
Practical work & completion
In this module you deepen and test the knowledge you have gained. Do bring a use case of your own along.
- Final project — an AI use case including a strategy, change and knowledge plan (concept, development, coaching)
